VisionMission
At the operational level, the organization envisages improving its logistics, infrastructural and human resource capacity. It aims to improve its accessibility and visibility especially through reinforcement of its ancillary bureau in Maputsoe and its website and networks. On one hand, at the programme level, NewSETA looks forward to championing youth-oriented agendas and to empower schemes of young people in Lesotho. It envisages alternative research and information dissemination among stakeholders in advancing the concern of youth. It anticipates nation-wide surveys and comparative studies with related international instruments, furnishing factsheets on human rights, democracy, peace and security, organizing sensitization workshops and policy advisory and focus group discussions with stakeholders and lobbying at different levels of society on relevant development issues.The mission of NewSETA is to facilitate the creation of new social and economic opportunities that improve the quality of life of citizens particularly the disadvantaged children, youth and women and enhance the capacities of youth and local institutions to more actively engage their communities through initiatives that promote better living standards.

Organization’s history

NewSETA is an apolitical, nonprofit-making association created on the 13th July 2013 in Cameroon and opened a new chapter in Lesotho in 2019. NewSETA-Lesotho was officially registered on the 12 September 2019. Through NewSETA- Cameroon, it has carried out sensitization on Electoral Process and Get-out-the-vote Campaigns through local media channels and among community groups. It has equally participated in the observation of elections. During the 30th September 2013 twin elections in Cameroon, NewSETA had its observers accredited to oversee elections for six regions of Cameroon (Extreme North, North, North West, Centre, Littoral and South).

The organization has also been equipping the youth with leadership skills, knowledge on electoral processes, entrepreneurship skills during different seminars known as REPAIR (Rebuilding Peace through Actions with Inclusive Reach). The organization has enjoyed the financial support of several donors including NED (National Endowment for Democracy) France Embassy, etc. In Lesotho, it carried out Covid-19 awareness campaigns, Climate Justice Campaigns and charitable works. NewSETA Lesotho is committed to combating corruption with the aim of deepening democracy in the country. The organization embarked on raising community awareness in Maputsoe and Moselinyane constituencies regarding poor service delivery specifically lack of water and poor sanitation. It established and trained community watchdogs who are equipped with skills to hold their councilors and parliamentarians accountable. The organization has an office in Maputsoe, Leribe District.
